"Lumbering along-with goods from the woods."  This slogan has been put to good use since  Haywood F. McDonald  founded McDonald Lumber Co. in 1949.  Considered a pioneer of the Eastover area , Mr. McDonald developed his business into a thriving building material supplier for the the southeastern part of North Carolina.  Mr. McDonald started with a ground saw mill and eventually expanded the operation to include a planing mill and dry kiln.  

Since the beginning the McDonald Lumber Co. has been family owned and operated, run now to include the third generation of the family.
